Mirabilis longiflora

White and purple flowers with a sweet smell that often bloom in the late afternoon. An unusual aspect of Sweet Four O'Clock is that different flower colors can be found on the same plant. Because of the late flowers, moths are the main pollinators for this species.

Sweet Four O'Clock is native to the Southwestern United States and Mexico. It was cultivated by the Aztecs for medicinal and ornamental purposes.

These earrings are cast in bright, recycled sterling silver and dangle from handmade, recycled sterling silver ear hooks. The rippled surface of the seed pod catches light from every angle.
